The following is a typical job flow, starting from your contact with PTE.
1. Contacting PTE
You will generally start by contacting our estimating department. You may have your take-off from architectural drawings or a set of specifications. Commonly, these will not yet have a specific formula, and final measurements often change, but the general job requirements can be provided to PTE. Talking to our estimator is a good time to get questions answered and matters clarified.
2. Formal Proposal
Our estimator will provide a formal proposal with a price including freight to your door or to your jobsite.
3. Formula & Samples Match
Once our proposal is signed and returned you will be contacted by our Administrator to obtain your formula and a control sample for us to match.
4. Prepping Samples
We will then produce multiple 6” x 6” samples using your formula and control sample and send two of them to you for your approval. That approval may require you to work with the general contractor, owner, or architect and is a critical step in the process.
5. Download PDFs and Record Your Measurements
For your convenience, you can download a PDF of standard pieces, such as treads/risers or base, record the measurements for your job, and return these to us for the preparation of shop drawings.
6. Finalized Shop Drawings
As soon as you provide us with field-verified dimensions, we will produce the final shop drawings for your approval and signature.
7. PTE Orders Materials
Based on your timeline for need and installation, we will order the materials for your project once we have received approval of all items (signed proposal, approved sample, and signed shop drawings). With over 350 different aggregates and epoxy colors from a variety of suppliers, PTE cannot stock all of the choices and therefore orders these materials specifically for your job.
8. Manufacturing Process Starts
Once the materials are in our shop and you have released us to proceed, we will begin the manufacturing process.
9. Arranging Transportation
Upon completion of your project, we will arrange transportation to your location.
10. Final Invoice
Once we have shipped, we will invoice you for the products with our standard 30-day terms.
The most common question we get is: how long will this take? The answer depends on multiple things, including material availability time, and size and complexity of the job. We will keep in contact with you throughout the project to establish agreed delivery schedules for your project.
