We want to make sure that we manufacture exactly the items you require, with the correct measurements and quantities. We do this by creating Shop Drawings that our employees use throughout the manufacturing process. Often our customers prepare these drawings in-house, but usually, we prepare them and send them to you for final approval. In all cases, we require signed approval of final shop drawings so that all measurements have been field verified and quantities confirmed.
PTE can manufacture virtually any design that can be shown on shop tickets, but most work is done in a variation of some standard designs. To assist our customers, we have prepared a series of Standard Shop Drawing Templates. We urge you to print these out as needed and use them to provide us with estimated measurements where final measurements are not yet available to obtain a good price proposal. They can then be used again for “VIF” (Verified in the Field) dimensions for PTE to create final shop drawings for your approval.
The dimensions needed to be filled out are labeled VIF and highlighted in yellow. In the case of the treads, there is a schedule that can be filled out with the corresponding items. There are other dimensions on the tickets that are our standard dimensions for these items. Any of these can be adjusted BUT they would have to be noted so that we can provide you the most accurate information. Of course, we will want you to indicate the number of pieces to be made for each drawing. It is always helpful if you send us the underlying architectural detail for your precast items. Please call us at 919-231-6200 with any questions and we hope these are helpful for
you.
